The main responsibility of our Legal Counsel is to maintain and improve VIDA’s regulatory compliance level, and make positive contribution that would lead to VIDA’s business growth.

Outcome and Responsibilities:​​

  • Keeping abreast of market developments and changes in the law related to personal data protection, data privacy, and data security; electronic transactions, digital certificates and digital signatures, as well as financial services regulations.

  • Structuring, coordination & execution of transactions/deals (including carrying out due diligence and preparing transaction documents) for fundraising, joint ventures, investments, strategic collaborations and partnerships.

  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing various range of contracts across VIDA businesses

  • Providing day-to-day legal support for cross-functional departments, including support associated with business process improvement, operational matters, and international expansion of the products.

  • Working closely and coordinating with the product and business team in VIDA.

  • Support the team by contributing ideas and advice from the regulator's point of view.

  • Giving continued support on the creation, standardisation and implementation of VIDA legal compliance, policies, terms & conditions, internal working procedures and standard operational guidelines that supports VIDA’s business growth.

  • Lead the regulatory compliance VIDA’s Certificate Authority, eKYC (Know Your Customer), digital signature, and Authentication product groups, including: (a) advising products and operations compliance; (b) managing licensing, regulatory approvals, and mandatory reporting to and audit from authorities.

How do you know if you are a good fit:​​

  • You have a Bachelor of Law from a reputable law school in Indonesia.

  • You have been working in for at least 4 years in private practice at top-tier law firms, or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience as in-house legal of multinational companies.

  • You have a significant experience in drafting, and negotiating legal documents both in English and Indonesian.

  • Good legal knowledge for corporate law and analytical interpretation of business structure (both technical and operational aspects).

  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.

  • Strong ability to adapt, can handle ambiguities within a startup environment.

  • Excellent communicator and can work well with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong interest in the technology industry, in particular in personal data protection and digital identity.

  • Have a growth mindset – willing to try something new and different to get things done.

  • Demonstrate the ability to follow through on tasks, a self starter who thrive on autonomy when working towards a goal.
